Cycle Statue as Mole Valley Olympic Legacy?
Three designs, two of them incorporating cycles, are being considered for a lasting reminder of this year's Olympic Games, possibly on the Denbies roundabout on the A24. A broadly based selection committee is meeting to choose the winner. Read more
Traffic lights to be retimed after representations by MVCF
SCC is to increase the length of the green phase on the traffic lights at the junction between West Street/Westcott Road and Vincent Lane to give cyclists more time to cross from West Street into Westcott Road, before traffic starts to emerge from Vincent Lane. This will initially be done for a six-month trial period. Read more
Film project project inspired by the Olympic Road Cycle Race
Mole Valley District Council is calling budding film-makers to submit short films for 'Made In Mole Valley'. It's an opportunity for cyclists to get out and about on all or part of the Olympic cycle route, film their experiences and potentially have their film judged and screened as part of the Olympic Games weekend in the district. London 2012 to spend £10m on cycling & walking route improvements
Spectators will be encouraged to cycle and walk to the London Olympic Games and recently a £10 million improvement package for cycling and walking routes to the Olympic park was unveiled. Read more.
